The Achensee region is one of the most popular cross-country skiing areas in Tyrol. More than 200 kilometres of cross-country trails offer the greatest cross-country skiing pleasure. Whether you choose a leisurely route along the lakeshore or a sporty and challenging trail in the Karwendel valleys - a varied network of trails awaits you. With their high quality standards, the cross-country ski trails at Lake Achensee deserve the Tyrolean cross-country ski trail seal of approval.
Classic trails and skating tracks mostly run parallel, connected by a well thought-out guidance system. The cross-country skiing centre in Pertisau at the entrance to the Karwendel is the ideal starting point for the cross-country trail network on Lake Achensee. Beginners and pleasure cross-country skiers
Absolute beginners will find a practice trail in Pertisau and in Maurach, where braking and changing lanes can be practised in detail. Beginners and those who are still comfortable on narrow skis will enjoy the gently rolling hill and panoramic trails, such as the local trail directly in Pertisau or the Buchau trail directly along the lakeshore.
At the entrance to the Karwendel valleys, there is even a dedicated dog trail where masters and mistresses can do their laps in the snow together with their four-legged friends.
Passionate cross-country skiers and skaters

One of the more challenging routes with a length of 7 km and an ascent of 180 metres is the Tristenau trail, which initially leads across the area of the Achensee Golf and Country Club and then climbs steadily through the forest to the end of the idyllic Tristenau valley.
