There are small ski areas full of variety around Tyrol's largest lake. While you make your tracks in the snow, you can enjoy a marvellous mountain panorama and here and there magical views over Lake Achensee.
Due to the large number of wide and uncrowded pistes, these ski areas are particularly suitable for families, beginners and those returning to the sport.
Karwendel Bergbahn (cable car)
Skiing and snowboarding fun with panoramic views over Lake Achensee. With 12 kilometres of pistes, the Zwölferkopf ski area offers winter fun without any stress. No overcrowded pistes and no long queues at the lifts. Families, beginners and returnees in particular appreciate this relaxed atmosphere.
Planberg- & Wiesenlifte
If you prefer to start in the valley first, the best place to start is on the practice slopes right next to the Karwendel cable car. These are the ideal slopes for families and beginners. Leithner Ski School with Bobo's Kids Club offers ski lessons for all generations.
Hochalmlifte Christlum
With 27 kilometres of pistes between 950 and 1,800 metres in altitude, the ski area in Achenkirch is the largest on Lake Achensee.
Rofan Seilbahn (cable car)
The Rofan ski area offers a wide variety of slopes - with pistes to suit all abilities. The Rofan cable car and 2 double chairlifts open up the ski area with 11 kilometres of pistes. The Kinderland and practice area also offer perfect conditions for the little ones and those returning to the sport.
And in between, adventure-hungry guests can treat themselves to the unique experience of flying with the Air Rofan - Skyglider. You can be pulled up 200 metres in the "clutches of the eagle" to the Gschöllkopf (2,040 m) and then glide back down to the mountain station at a speed of approx. 80 km/h. A breathtaking adventure.
