Pertisau is not only one of the most beautiful spots on Lake Achensee, but also the gateway to Europe's largest nature reserve - the Karwendel mountains. Here you will find the ideal starting point for short or long hikes.

Hiking in summer at Lake Achensee is an unforgettable experience! The warm temperatures, the fresh mountain air and the chirping of the birds make every hike a special adventure. The region offers you a variety of hiking trails that lead you through breathtaking scenery. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Karwendel valleys: Hike through the gently ascending Karwendel valleys near Pertisau. After about an hour you will reach the Alpengasthof Pletzachalm or the Alpengasthaus Falzturn. You should plan at least two hours for a visit to the Gramai Alm.

  • Shore paths: The paths along Lake Achensee in Pertisau, Maurach and Achenkirch offer fantastic views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Enjoy the summery idyll and the clear water.

  • Circular hiking trail in Steinberg am Rofan: This idyllic circular hiking trail promises absolute picture-book landscapes and leads you through unspoilt nature. Especially in summer, you can experience the region in its full bloom.

Tyrolean delicacies and cosy places to rest await you in the mountain pastures and huts along the routes. Let yourself be enchanted by the magnificent summer landscape!

Hiking in the Achensee region offers a variety of routes for all hiking enthusiasts.

If you like it easy and flat, the route from Pertisau via Falzthurn Alm towards Gramai Alm is an excellent choice. From the toll booth at the entrance to the Karwendel valley (cross-country skiing centre), at the end of the car park, follow the tarmac road with forks to the left towards Falzthurnalm. Here you can take a break and enjoy the Tyrolean hospitality. From there, a natural path leads across the mountain fields to the Gramai Alm. You return via the same route. Allow at least four hours for the outward and return journey. The hut offers delicious Tyrolean delicacies and a cosy place to rest.

Up to the top

If you want to gain a few metres in altitude and enjoy a breathtaking view over Pertisau, then the medium-difficulty tour to the Feilalm is just right for you.

From the Pertisau toll station at the entrance to the Karwendel valley, follow the hiking trail past the Pletzachalm and continue in the direction of the Gern Alm. Turn left and follow the forest road to the Feilalm. Return via the same route. You can also take a path through the forest beforehand.
